Janaury 2009 Happenings

Hi everyone! We hope everyone is staying warm! We feel like it's cold down here, but know we have nothing to complain about ... with our friends and family up north! We've had a great month celebrating Kate's big first birthday, and with a lot of fun indoor activities!

We have had many playdates with Emma's best bud Laine, birthday parties, Chuck E Cheese, and the Children's Museum! (Pictures above!) Emma loved playing in the water, and tap dancing - and Kate....loved eating the Moon Sand and flying down the slide with her big sis!

Emma also had her first dentist appointment this month too - and she did great! She loved the dentist and said the next day, she wanted to go back....NOW! Let's hope that continues!

Kate is feeling great and back into the normal swing of things - enjoying playing with her birthday toys, her sister, and her new hobby...throwing food on the floor! Emma continues to enjoy school and learns so much! She is learning new words everyday in spanish, yoga, and sign language ... those are just a few! She enjoys her friends and her teachers there!

Mike is working hard at ATT as usual, and school is fine for me! We are all ready for Spring!

Below are some cute videos of the girls....Dinner has just ended - and the girls heard the garage door go up...so they knew it was DADDY! They got so excited as he walked through the door. They do this every night! The second video is of the girls and Daddy having Dance Party!

We hope you are all well! We miss you and love you!

Happy 2009!

Well, my new year resolution is to try and blog once a month so friends and family can see what we are up to down south in Atlanta!

We hope you all are having a great start to 2009. We are excited to celebrate Kate's first birthday today, January 8th, 2009! It's hard to believe she's a year old. Time flies! We are very thankful for her being healthy, after the big scare we had over Christmas with her getting RSV and mild pnemonia. Six long days in the hosptial made us realize how precious life is and how not to take a second for granted. We have been resting up this week - and watching Kate 'bounce back' to her happy self! She enjoys sucking her thumb, following Emma around, and her new thing is SQUEALING! Emma is a joy too! She is so curious and we love to watch the wheels in her little mind just turn away! One of her favorite new toys from the holidays is her projector that shines on her ceiling at night - daddy got her that....she enjoys learning about the animals that are shown and her new favorite question: WHY? Oh my! She is also into "Hey Guys, Guess What?" and red lights and green lights are big when we are in the car too. How do you explain to a 2 year old that it is OKAY to turn on red sometimes? She is a trip! And keeps us on our toes!

I started back to work this week - this time went so fast, and I'm sad to go back....but getting back into a routine will be good too. Mike is busy at work as usual, and is getting ready for a buisness trip to Dallas in a few weeks! We are anxious to see what the new year brings....ready for the rain to stop....and wondering when Kate will start walking! We wish you well! Enjoy our family pics on http://www.barrattshutterfly.com/ - Here are some pics, one of our little Kate coming home from the hospital all smiles on Tuesday the 30th of December, and the others from the birthday celebration tonight! Kate and Emma enjoying Kate's new bouncy zebra, and then of coarse Birthday Cake Time! Check out the video below of Emma feeding Kate! Too Cute! Have a great January!
